Tesla service and repairs
We look after Teslas as an independent workshop: battery diagnostics, the low-voltage battery, charging, brakes, suspension and maintenance. We tell you honestly what we can do and what needs doing within Tesla’s network.
Why take your Tesla to a specialist
Electrified Tesla cars aren’t repaired like a petrol car. Without the right equipment and high-voltage experience, the diagnosis stays half done.
- 01
Known problems on the Model S and Model X
On older Model S and Model X cars, the central screen’s memory (eMMC) wears out: the screen freezes or goes blank and the reversing camera disappears. Tesla ran a recall for this in 2021.
- 02
The low-voltage battery has changed over the years
On the Model 3 and Model Y, Tesla switched in 2021 from a lead-acid low-voltage battery to a lithium one. The type is shown in the car’s software menu. It matters for diagnosis and replacement, because the parts aren’t interchangeable.

Diagnostics across the whole electrified system
We read the codes from every control unit involved and measure the battery, inverter and charging. We separate a weak module from a flat 12 V battery, a connector or a software fault.

We test first, then suggest
What we do on Tesla hybrids and EVs
We handle the systems we see most often on electrified cars, from the high-voltage battery to charging, brakes and maintenance.
Many Tesla owners come to us after the range dropped, after a dashboard message or after a quote for a new battery. We test first and tell you what we confirmed.
- High-voltage battery diagnostics
- Testing every module and the battery’s condition
- The charging system, where relevant
- The 12 V battery and the DC-DC converter
- Regenerative and friction braking
- Battery and inverter cooling
- Maintenance: filters, fluids, tyres
- Software, where we have access for the make
Tesla models we see often
Every model has its weak points. Here is what we know about the most common ones:
Electric
Model S și Model X
We check the battery’s condition, the central screen and its memory recall, the air suspension and brakes that are rarely used.
Electric
Model 3 și Model Y
The low-voltage battery is a common cause of warning messages. We check its type, the system that charges it and charging from the socket.
Brakes
Toate modelele Tesla
Strong regenerative braking makes the discs and calipers rust. We check them before noises or uneven braking appear.
When to bring your Tesla in
It makes sense when range drops, charging fails, a warning message appears or another garage lacks the equipment for the electrified side.
Range has dropped noticeably
Battery wear, temperature or a weak module can reduce range. We read the battery’s condition before talking about replacement.
Charging won’t start or keeps stopping
The cause can be the cable, the port, the on-board charger or the 12 V battery. We find it before you replace parts one after another.
Warning message or reduced power
The car is protecting itself. We check the battery, inverter and signals, without assuming a new battery just because of a dashboard message.
The car won’t wake up, although the battery is charged
On electric cars, a flat 12 V battery blocks everything, even with the main battery full. We also check the system that charges it.
Frequently asked questions about Tesla hybrids and EVs
Is my Tesla’s battery still under warranty?+
Tesla offers an 8-year warranty on the battery and drive unit, with a mileage limit depending on the model. If the car is still under warranty, we recommend going to Tesla first.
Do you work on Tesla hybrids and electric cars?+
Yes, on the common electrified Tesla models. When you book, we confirm from the VIN what we can do on your car.
Can you check the battery’s condition?+
Yes. We test the battery before any replacement quote and tell you what we found and what options you have.
Is it cheaper than a dealer?+
Often, yes, because we repair only what is faulty rather than replacing whole assemblies. If the car is still under the manufacturer’s warranty or has an open recall, we tell you to go to a dealer first, where the fix is free.
How long does it take?+
It varies from case to case: it depends on the model, the fault and the parts. We give you an estimate after talking through the symptoms or after the diagnosis.
Find out what is wrong with your Tesla
Book a check. We tell you the cause and whether the next step is the battery, the charging or maintenance.
